Tourist potential of le Marche.
Le Marche is situated at the same level as Tuscany and Umbria, however more to the east bordering the Adriatic Sea. The pristene area is still not visited by big amounts of tourists. It has breathtaking beautiful hills with medieval villages on top, offering a wide variety of cultural and cullinair life.
After the severe earthquake that hit Umbria and the Marche more than a decade ago, the villages have been rapidly and magnificent restored. Visitors to these bastions of old knighthood fortifications and villages are struck by the almost old-fashioned atmosphere, with many different shops, and excellent restaurants.
Art and culture is there in abundance to admire, allthough on a smaller scale, and thus perhaps even more exciting: a work of renaissance painter like Crivelli still hanging in a church is an experience of greater fun than running along the many (but beautiful) Madonna's in the Uffizi…!
For those who like to track around mountains or who wants to skie the Monte Sibilini less than 30 minutes drive does offer, countless sports opportunities.
The nearest beaches are in di Civitanova Marche. Those who prefer calmer and nicer beaches, drives 20 minutes longer. These beaches are found directly below the beautiful park Ancona Monte Conero, with yellow sandy beach and blue Adriatic sea. There are excellent restaurants in Porte Nuovo!
